What is KARAT PLATINUM™ ?
Like 14kt. gold which is 58.5% gold and 41.5% other non-precious metals, KARAT PLATINUM™, 14 KARAT PLATINUM® and 14Kt. Pt® are all brand names for an alloy composed of 58.5% pure platinum and 41.5% other non-precious metals.

Can the term “platinum” be used to describe the alloy?
F.T.C. Guides require a minimum of 500 ppt pure platinum. Since the alloy contains 585 ppt, it is within the bounds of the guides as long as the alloy’s composition is clearly and conspicuously marked.

Will KARAT PLATINUM™ tarnish?
The alloy passed very rigorous corrosion and abrasion tests without colorations or stains. It exhibited superior properties when compared to a conventional 950/50 alloy. Complete test results are available upon request.

Why is KARAT PLATINUM™ so important?
For the first time, KARAT PLATINUM™ jewelry is available to large segments of jewelry customers at a substantially lower price than existing 950 Pt. jewelry. We are making platinum affordable.

What does substantially lower mean?
The alloy contains 58.5% pure platinum as opposed to 95% platinum. This coupled with its lower density means that KARAT PLATINUM™ jewelry will sell for approximately 50% less than jewelry made with 950 Pt.

Besides price, what are the other reasons to own KARAT PLATINUM™?
Platinum is recognized as one of the most precious metals in the world. Its enduring beauty, luster, elegance and durability make it the ideal metal for jewelry. 585 Platinum has all of these same qualities.

Is KARAT PLATINUM™ guaranteed?
KARAT PLATINUM™ is manufactured in Europe with the most exacting and stringent specifications for outstanding quality. KARAT PLATINUM™ consistently exceeds consumer expectations by delivering a product that is identical in performance and look to pure platinum. Every piece of jewelry made with KARAT PLATINUM™ is tagged with KPC’s seal of quality.

How is KARAT PLATINUM™ produced?
The production techniques are covered by several pending patents. Until the patent approval procedures are complete, the process is proprietary.

Is KARAT PLATINUM™ hypoallergenic?
All the hypoallergenic properties of pure platinum are also present in KARAT PLATINUM™. It is the perfect choice for those with sensitive skin.

How does KARAT PLATINUM™ compare to white gold?
White gold, which is yellow gold alloyed or plated to look white, for some period of time may need to be re-plated to retain its color depending on the wear and tear the piece receives. KARAT PLATINUM™ retains its beauty and natural white luster forever.

What is “platinum clad”?
Some jewelry is made from sterling silver and given a thin plating of platinum, often referred to as “platinum clad.” By contrast, KARAT PLATINUM™ is quite different: it is 58.5% pure platinum throughout to maintain its beauty and luster.
